In the second game of three solid contests slated for Thanksgiving Day 2014 in the USA, Chip Kelly and the Eagles made the Cowboys look like anything but "America's Team." Jerry Jones can be thankful for the two wild card spots the NFL playoff format, while Chip Kelly can thank himself for being an offensive guru who saw potential in a castaway QB from Southern California.

Like Derek Jeter, but not really. Coming off a career year in 2013, Shady got off to a slow start in September and October. He logged 505 yards with 137 attempts in those seven games for an average of 3.7 YPC. In his five November outings since, he’s turned his season around nicely with 105 carries for 513 yards, an average of 4.9 YPC. McCoy will look to transition strongly into December with another soft matchup versus the Cowboys on Dec. 14.

All year, the unit has been a difference-maker in ball games. In this one, punter Donnie Jones never allowed the Cowboys good field positioning, and rookie kicker Cody Parkey was a perfect 4-for-4 in field goals attempts. Coordinator Dave Fipp is making a name for himself quickly in this league like John Harbaugh did years ago before leaving Philadelphia to take his current head coaching job with the Baltimore Ravens.

It was in front of a national audience in their cozy $1.3 billion dollar stadium with a mostly healthy offense, yet Romo looked far more like a pony trainer than he did a Cowboy. The media is especially relentless in Dallas about their football. His poor line of 18-for-29 for only 199 yards and zero TDs (two INTs) will raise eyebrows. It may even make Jerry Jones wish his franchise could be grooming Johnny Manziel like he so badly wanted to do.

Ran out of the Big Apple, the 28-year-old signal caller is resembling a franchise quarterback more and more with every passing week. It looks as though Chip Kelly is starting to trust him more as well. He outshone his opposition, Tony Romo, mightily on Thanksgiving Day. With a QBR of 102 and two total touchdowns in the game, it appears as though Philly can be confident with either Sanchez or Nick Foles under center.

After a decisive win in prime time where the birds of prey from Philadelphia went into Dallas and gobbled the Cowboys up like the turkeys they are, it’s fair to say Philadelphia is the most talented team in their division. The Eagles outgained the Cowboys 464 yards from scrimmage to 267.
