The New York Jets will be hosting the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football. With the Jets’ season over, they will be looking to spoil the Dolphins’ chances at making the playoffs. New York is coming off an embarrassing loss to the Buffalo Bills in Detroit last Monday, and must be looking to rebound.

That game saw the Jets’ new starting quarterback Michael Vick get benched for playing so poorly, and Geno Smith has regained his starting position for the game against the Dolphins.

However, this season has not been a pretty-looking one for Smith statistically as he has just seven passing touchdowns with 10 interceptions. Smith’s poor season has him ranked 32nd in the NFL in QBR with a 27.6 rating, which is only better than Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles.

Smith will be fighting for his NFL career on Monday night. Even though his time with the Jets maybe coming to a close, there is always plenty of opportunities elsewhere in the NFL. The Dolphins’ defense can surely cause a lot of problems for the struggling New York offense. Miami’s defense currently ranks sixth in points allowed with just 19.9 per game, and they are fourth in passing yards allowed per game with 211.7.

Smith did look better in junk time against the Bills, going 10-of-12 with 89 yards passing, which could give him some confidence heading into one of the more important games of his career on the big stage of Monday Night Football.
