Texans vs. Jaguars NFL Week 14: TV Schedule, Betting Lines, Prediction
Week 14 Matchup: Houston Texans (6-6) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-10)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Dec. 7, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS
Stadium: EverBank Field
Line: Houston (-6)
For better or worse, the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars will meet up twice in the last four weeks of the season. Round 1 is, of course, this weekend.
The Texans absolutely have to win both contests if they plan on making the playoffs. They may also have to knock out the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens. So, you know, win their last four games of the regular season, which will give them an overall record of 10-6. Houston should have quite a bit of momentum entering this matchup. It did score 45 points on the Tennessee Titans last week and Ryan Fitzpatrick went off for 358 passing yards and six TDs.
Now, he just has to repeat that performance every single game.
Jacksonville actually won last game, so that is something to be excited about. Unfortunately for the Jags, they could win the rest of their games and still be on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs. That tends to happen when a team only has two wins in its first 12 games of the season.
Jacksonville may get home-field advantage in this one, but Houston still has something to play for, and is coming off a solid performance. It remains to be seen if Fitzpatrick and the rest of the team will have an encore. You have to like the chances of that one happening with Houston playing one of the worst teams in the NFL in Week 14.
PREDICTION: Texans 28, Jaguars 14
