Predicting the Final Score of Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts

This Sunday’s battle between the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts will give the Texans one final opportunity to stay alive in the race for the division crown in the AFC South. However, if you look at the recent history between these two, you will notice that it doesn’t really matter if it’s Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck playing quarterback for the Colts; Indy continues to dominate this matchup regardless of the many personnel upgrades the Texans have made throughout the years.

This year had to be particularly tough for the Texans as they saw themselves go down by a score of 24-0 at home to the Colts, only to make a furious comeback to trim the lead to five but still found a way to lose the game at the end. It was at this point that I am sure every Texans fan was screaming to themselves, “Here we go again,” but now they find themselves with a chance to go on the road and possibly make up some ground with a team that has been absolutely on fire since Week 2 of the season.

The good news for the Texans is that they have been playing better offensively in recent weeks, and they will certainly need to continue to do so if they hope to keep up with the high octane offense that is led by Luck. Ever since he was benched for Ryan Mallett, Ryan Fitzpatrick has finally been utilizing the weapons at his disposal in the form of Andre Johnson and the emerging DeAndre Hopkins. And now that Jadeveon Clowney is out for almost a year and J.J. Watt can only do so much on the defensive end by himself, the Texans will need to try to do everything they can to outscore the Colts this weekend.

All I have to say to that is good luck (pun totally intended)! Luck brings in the top passing offense in the NFL which averages 321 yards per game and also scores an eye-opening 31 points a game to boot. Romeo Crennel has done an amazing job turning this Texans defensive unit around and has been known to come up with some creative schemes that can shut teams down, but just know that even when the Colts’ offense has been kept in check, they still scored 20 points in each of those contests.

So the point I’m trying to make is that this will definitely be a high-scoring affair in which you will see both teams lay it all out on the line. But the division will be won by the Colts this week by a score of 34-27.
