Brett Hundley will have all eyes on him as he prepares for a huge game at the Alamo Bowl. The UCLA Bruins quarterback will play his final game for the team against the Kansas State Wildcats, as he has declared his intentions to pursue his pro football career at the 2015 NFL Draft. Based on the season he’s had so far, make no mistake about it, Hundley will be one of the top quarterbacks in the draft.

Expected to be the second quarterback chosen in the draft behind Oregon’s Marcus Mariota, Hundley might have some issues due to an index finger injury on his throwing hand that he suffered against Stanford. While he should be fine to play in the Alamo Bowl, NFL draft scouts will look at that along with all his other attributes to see how he does in this matchup.

His stock value at the moment is pretty high and he will most likely will be taken in the first round of the draft. He has a pretty good arm and he is a physical kind of quarterback, but he does have a few areas of concern. He needs to work on his pocket presence, as well as improving his ability to read defensive schemes and audible to exploit weaknesses against opponents.

Statistics wise, Hundley is a touchdown throwing machine, as he ended the season with 21 touchdowns and 3,019 yards. He might have thrown five interceptions, but one area that he excels it is making plays through the air or ground. As a dual-threat passer, he amassed 148 rushing yards and kept the chains moving when he couldn’t get it done through the air.

Another one of his great attributes is the fact that Hundley has a good head on his shoulders. His good character and hard-working integrity make him a solid choice for an NFL team looking to build him into a franchise quarterback over time. He is labeled as a work in progress kind of athlete, who may not be an immediate starter, but he could develop into a solid one down the road.

Overall, Hundley should be able to have a strong game against the Wildcats and prove his worth to scouts that will be grading his every move. Keep an eye on him, as he should put up a fine game, and show that he’s more than capable of making an impact in the NFL once he gets drafted in.
