Week 16 Matchup: Baltimore Ravens (9-5) vs. Houston Texans (7-7)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Dec. 21, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS
Stadium: NRG Stadium
Line: Baltimore (-6.5)
If the season ended today, the Baltimore Ravens would be in the playoffs. The Houston Texans simply wouldn’t. The two will go head-to-head in Week 16.
Baltimore has won two in a row. Just to be safe, it would be doing itself a huge favor by winning out. However, Houston is no slouch, and the Ravens will play the Cleveland Browns in the final week of the season. Both games are still very winnable for the playoff-hopeful Ravens, who control their own destiny when it comes to the postseason.
Houston is coming off a loss against the Indianapolis Colts. However, that game was played on the road for the Texans, and limiting the Colts to just 17 points isn’t too bad. Baltimore is by far the toughest game left of the season. The last game for the Texans will be against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have been struggling all year to say the least.
Baltimore could still win its division, but it needs some help, and also needs to win out. Houston isn’t as lucky, as the Colts have already won their division title. Still, this is a game being played against two solid teams. Not to mention, the outcome will definitely have an effect on the playoff picture. More so if the Ravens lose. Still, look for Baltimore to come away with the victory on the road.
PREDICTION: Ravens 17, Texans 14
