Week 17 Matchup: Arizona Cardinals (11-4) vs. San Francisco 49ers (7-8)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Dec. 28, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX
Stadium: Levi’s Stadium
Line: San Francisco (-6)
The Arizona Cardinals have a solid record, yet not many people are giving them any chance in the playoffs, which haven’t even started yet. Heck, the San Francisco 49ers, who won’t be partaking in the postseason, are expected to knock out the Cardinals in Week 17.
The short answer behind that is due to the fact that the Cardinals don’t have a reliable quarterback (aka their QBs keep getting injured). Considering the quarterback position is arguably the most important position in the game, that is a pretty glaring weakness for Arizona going forward.
With that in mind, San Fran has lost four games in a row. Sure, it has taken on the Seattle Seahawks twice during that span, but losses are losses, and the 49ers have a grand total of eight this year. That is a whole lot of losses for a team that was expected to contend for a Super Bowl once again.
I imagine there are going to be a lot of changes for San Francisco over the offseason. Regardless, who knows how Arizona’s QB will do in this one, and I am going with the 49ers to finish out the season strong. Playing in their own house will probably help towards that cause.
PREDICTION: Cardinals 16, 49ers 27
