Week 17 Matchup: San Diego Chargers (9-6) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (8-7)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Dec. 28, 1:00 p.m. ET, CBS
Stadium: Arrowhead Stadium
Line: Kansas City (-2.5)
The San Diego Chargers will make the playoffs this year … if they win their last game of the season against the Kansas City Chiefs, who could also still make the playoffs (with a lot of luck). Regardless of all the crazy playoff scenarios entering Week 17, both teams will enter this game with plenty of momentum.
San Diego is coming off a big win against the San Francisco 49ers. The Chargers scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, forced overtime and then won in overtime. Now that is how you keep your playoff hopes alive.
KC wasn’t so lucky. It lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. It also only scored 12 points. There is still hope, but the Chiefs have to win and then, simply put, a bunch of other things have to happen.
These teams already met up in Week 7. In that matchup, the Chiefs came out on top by three points. Call me crazy, but I am expecting a similar outcome in this Week 17 battle. In the end, I like Philip Rivers to make more plays for his team, which will result in more TDs and more points for San Diego. Kansas City certainly has the team to win, and will be at home, but it has not been playing its best football as of late (has lost four of five).
PREDICTION: Chargers 26, Chiefs 23
