Week 17 Matchup: Detroit Lions (11-4) vs. Green Bay Packers (11-4)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Dec. 28, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX
Stadium: Lambeau Field
Line: Green Bay (-7.5)
The Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers have both punched their tickets to the playoffs. With that in mind, there is nothing wrong with entering postseason play with some momentum, which could certainly lead to a run in the playoffs.
Although the Lions haven’t necessarily been playing the toughest competition as of late, they have still won four games in a row. A five-game winning streak before the playoffs would be exactly what the doctor ordered.
Unfortunately for Detroit, it will be playing at Green Bay, where Aaron Rodgers and co. are basically unstoppable. Just looking at the line of this game should tell you all you need to know about that.
Regardless, this one is for the division title. The Lions won the first matchup at home by the score of 19-7. Something tells me the Packers won’t be held to seven points this time around. Going back to the Packers playing at home, Rodgers is so good at Lambeau.
Although Detroit certainly has the talent to go on a run in the playoffs, and beat Green Bay the first time around, don’t count on it knocking off the Packers twice this year. It doesn’t help the Lions’ cause that Green Bay has won six of its last seven games.
PREDICTION: Lions 27, Packers 31
