Week 17 Matchup: Oakland Raiders (3-12) vs. Denver Broncos (11-4)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Dec. 28, 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS
Stadium: Sports Authority Field at Mile High
Line: Denver (-14)
Well, the Denver Broncos laid another egg against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 16. Translation: Denver allowed 10 points in the fourth quarter, while scoring a grand total of zero in said quarter, and lost. The Broncos will, however, be going up against the Oakland Raiders in Week 17.
The Raiders have actually won three out of their last five games. Considering they didn’t have a single win before that span, that is pretty impressive. Even more impressive (I know, impressive and Oakland don’t really go together this year), Oakland’s wins have come against the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills. A win against Denver in the final meeting of the season would certainly have fans excited about the future.
The Broncos may have lost in Week 16, but the game was played on the road, and the Bengals aren’t necessarily the easiest team to play in the NFL. After all, they will be partaking in the playoffs this year. Of course, so will Denver.
Don’t expect the Broncos to just give this one away at home, even if Manning and the rest of the starters don’t go the whole time. This is the Raiders we are talking about, who have 12 losses in 2014, and are huge underdogs in this battle.
PREDICTION: Raiders 21, Broncos 24
