A year ago, the Denver Broncos were just beginning a playoff run that would come to a painful end in the Super Bowl. But this is a new year, and the Broncos have a chance to exorcise their demons from last year by winning the big game. This is a different Denver team than the one that got blown out and humiliated in last year’s Super Bowl, and here are five reasons why the Broncos will go from runner-up to champion and win Super Bowl XLIX.

Denver doesn't have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs the way they did last year, but getting a first-round bye will help them get back to the Super Bowl. Winning two games to reach the Super Bowl is considerably easier than winning three, and the week off will do the Broncos a lot of good. Denver will be able to get healthy during the bye, while Peyton Manning can rest up for another Super Bowl run.

Unlike last year, the Broncos are not completely reliant on Peyton Manning to carry the team. Denver has a league-high nine Pro Bowlers, including five on the defensive side of the ball, which is a testament to their ability to win games on both sides of the ball. The Broncos have arguably the most talented and balanced roster in the NFL, and they can win games in a variety of ways, which will help them get back to the Super Bowl.

A lot of playoff teams have one good pass rusher, but the Broncos have two in Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware, both of whom had double-digit sacks this season. Miller has had a resurgent season and looks like the player he was two years ago, while Ware is still one of the better pass rushers in the league. With Miller and Ware together, the Broncos have an intimidating and ferocious defense that can be tough to beat.

When the weather gets bad in January, teams have to be able to run the ball to reach the Super Bowl, and that's something the Broncos can do. The Denver offense has been one of the best rushing teams in the NFL over the last month of the season. C.J. Anderson has over 600 yards and eight touchdowns in the last six weeks, while Ronnie Hillman can provide a spark that can carry the Broncos deep into the postseason.

Despite some struggles late in the season, Manning is still one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and he is plenty motivated to win another Super Bowl. Even if he no longer has impressive arm strength, Manning can still outsmart defenses, and he still has a talented group of wideouts around him to make plays. Manning is still the biggest difference maker on Denver's roster, and he's the biggest reason why the Broncos will win the Super Bowl.
