The Giants finished 2014 with a 6-10 record. While many fans will see this as a disappointing year, we actually learned quite a few things about this team in this transition season.

Yes the Giants finished 6-10, but the team was decimated by injuries and lack of talent in key places. The team still played extremely hard for Coughlin throughout the season, and he is still getting his message across to young guys such as Rueben Randle and Odell Beckham Jr.

Eli Manning was coming off a career-high 27 interceptions this season, but he bounced back in a big way. He proved this season that he can still be a solid quarterback in this league for years to come. Manning finished this season sixth in passing yards and seventh in total QBR, and he is still the future for the Giants.

Odell Beckham Jr. took the league by storm this season, breaking all kinds of records. Through only 12 NFL games, Beckham already looks like one of the best receivers in the league, and he gives the Giants and their fans hope for the future.

Last season the offensive line was a huge mess. This season it was a little better, but it still needs work. They protected Manning better as the year went along, but they still failed to open up running lanes. It is conceivable that this line will need two or three new starters for next season, either via free agency or the draft.

Yes the defense did suffer a ton of injuries this season, but Perry Fewell has not had much success in recent years. The defense fails to put consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks for a full season, and they allow way too many big plays. The players have Fewell's back, but it's time for a new voice and new system for the Giants and their defense.
