All four home field teams that received a bye in the Wild Card round are led by quarterbacks who are Super Bowl champions. That reason alone is enough for the incoming Wild Card winners to be wary going forward. With the NFL Divisional playoffs set to kickoff this weekend, here are predictions for the winners in all four games.

Baltimore has had New England’s number during the playoffs in the past. The Ravens are 2-1 against the Patriots in the last three meetings, and it very well could have been 3-0. In fact, New England has to be incredibly worried that it’s Baltimore coming to visit opposed to Indianapolis. Still, the Patriots offense is sound and the Ravens secondary isn’t. Tom Brady should have his way at home in a close game.
Prediction: Patriots 28, Ravens 27

4. Carolina Panthers at Seattle Seahawks

The Panthers nearly defeated the Seahawks earlier this season. Of course, that was on their home turf. Seattle is dominant at CenturyLink Field. The reason the Panthers could emerge victorious is because their pass rush and rushing attack have come on as of late. The Seahawks struggle to protect Russell Wilson and sometimes have trouble with physical run games. Still, it’s hard to go against Seattle at home.
Prediction: Seahawks 17, Panthers 14

3. Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers

Dallas’ ability to run DeMarco Murray with success could be the lone reason they defeat Green Bay. However, it’s hard to bet against Aaron Rodgers, who is arguably the best player in the game and dominant at Lambeau Field. The Cowboys are undefeated on the road and the Packers are undefeated at home. Green Bay’s No. 1 scoring offense and ability to get after the quarterback will be the difference.
Prediction: Packers 30, Cowboys 28

2. Indianapolis Colts at Denver Broncos

The Broncos defeated the Colts in Week 1, but a lot has changed since then. Indianapolis is a very different team from what they were. They’re able to run the ball with success and give Andrew Luck time to make plays. Luck is a reason why the Colts could complete the upset. With that said, Peyton Manning and the offense are so good that it’s hard to believe they won’t win. Broncos simply have the better team.
Prediction: Broncos 30, Colts 24

It may seem like a cop out to pick the top two seeds in the NFC and AFC to advance to the conference championships. Even though upsets are possible, I just don’t believe it’s feasible. Sure, all four road teams have a realistic chance of winning, which is why I expect all four games to be close. With that said, the Patriots, Seahawks, Packers and Broncos have been the four best teams all season, which is why it’s foolish to go against them now.
