Wild Card weekend was pretty exciting, but it’ll be nothing in comparison to the Divisional Round. Whether it’s Scram Newton in Seattle, Romo trying to work more magic or Luck attempting to best his predecessor, the Divisional Round has plenty of action in store. Here are 10 bold predictions for the next round of the playoffs.

10. Justin Forsett Will Be A Non-Factor Against Patriots

Forsett has been one of the biggest surprises of the 2014 NFL season, coming out of nowhere to rush for over 1,200 yards and eight touchdowns on the year. He has become one of the key pieces to the Ravens offense, but against the Patriots defense, his presence will not be felt. Patriots will be focused on taking away Forsett and forcing Flacco to pass on their much improved secondary.

9. DeMarco Murray Runs For Over 150 Yards Against Packers

The Packers’ struggles to stop the run have been well documented this season, almost as well documented on Murray’s amazing ability to run. The two combine to make a great matchup for anyone who’s playing that postseason fantasy football thing. Murray will carry the Cowboys as far as he can (172 yards and a touchdown to be exact), but ultimately it won’t be enough to secure the win.

Peyton Manning has not been at his best this season, and he comes into the postseason on a bit of a cold streak. The Broncos would love to get Manning out of that and will look to run C.J. Anderson against a Colts defense that struggles to stop the run. Not only will Anderson run for 135, he’ll also catch plenty of balls out of the backfield as Demaryius Thomas and Julius Thomas stretch the secondary.

7. Cam Newton Runs For Over 100 Yards Against Seahawks

While it is a bit of a miracle the Panthers are even here right now, you can bet they won’t go down without a fight. With the Seahawks’ defense able to shut down Newton’s options down the field, it’ll be up to his legs to win the game for the Panthers. With his big frame and ability to break tackles, Newton will be a nightmare for the Seahawks defense.

6. Aaron Rodgers Throws For 350 Yards and 4 TDs Against Cowboys

We all know Aaron Rodgers has been god-like this season, and when he’s at home, his god-likeness becomes even more so. So being at home for the playoffs against a Cowboys defense that gave up 300-plus yards to Matthew Stafford, Rodgers is bound to have a good day. His arm will carry the Packers to the NFC Championship game.

5. Rob Gronkowski Has 100+ Yards And 2 TDs Against Ravens

It’s well known by now that Gronk in the playoffs is a huge thing for the Patriots, and everyone is making their guesses as to what the tight end will be able to produce in the postseason. Well let me tell you this; he will be featured heavily in the Patriots’ offensive plans, and he’ll carry the Patriots to the championship round.

When the Seahawks and Panthers faced off this season, the Seahawks won 13-9, so both these teams are used to low-scoring affairs. This game will be the exact same. The Panthers will be able to move the ball on offense but won’t be able to ever punch it into the end zone. Lucky for them Luke Kuechly will have a pick-six to give the Panthers their only touchdown.

Everyone’s ready for the first showdown between Manning and Luck in the postseason, and this game will live up to all the hype you can throw at it. It’ll take a fourth quarter, game-winning drive for the Colts to come away with the upset, but Luck will rise to the occasion and officially take the torch from Manning into his own hands.

Like I said earlier, both of these teams are used to low-scoring games and last-second scores. The Panthers will tie the game up late and send it into overtime. The 12th man will nervously watch as the Seahawks drive down into field goal range and boot through the game-winning kick to send the Seahawks to yet another NFC Championship game.

While some of the Wild Card games quickly became blowouts, this weekend promises much more exciting games. With seasons on the line and an amazingly equal playing ground, no game in the Divisional round will be be decided by more than seven points, with at least two of them being decided by last-second field goals.
