Divisional Round Matchup: Baltimore Ravens (10-6) vs. New England Patriots (12-4)
TV Schedule: Saturday, Jan. 10, 4:35 p.m. ET, NBC
Stadium: Gillette Stadium
Line: New England (-7)
The New England Patriots may have had the better season, and get this contest at home, but the Baltimore Ravens are coming into this one with some serious momentum. The Ravens just got done knocking off the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road.
Baltimore is no stranger to winning on the road in the playoffs. Needless to say, if the Patriots don’t take Baltimore seriously, which they will, the Ravens could pull off yet another road win. For that to happen, Joe Flacco is going to have to be on his game, and the defense is going to have to contain Tom Brady.
Speaking of Brady, he had yet another great season. After all, he threw 33 touchdown passes and racked up over 4,000 passing yards. New England may have lost its last contest of the regular season, but don’t expect that one to carry over to the postseason. The Patriots have had too good of a year to just lose the first game of the playoffs.
Although the Ravens are primed to win another Super Bowl, New England is many people’s favorite to come away with said Super Bowl. The Patriots may not have the best running game in the league, but their passing game will be too much for the Ravens to handle in the end. Flacco may have led his team to a Super Bowl victory before, but he will not do the same thing this season.
PREDICTION: Ravens 22, Patriots 27
