The Indianapolis Colts were criticized in the offseason for their weak 2014 draft. But as it turns out, these critics were wrong, because the rookies stepped up big this year, helping their team continue along the path to the Superbowl. Here are five young players who I believe will continue to learn and improve in the offseason and make a huge impact in 2015.

This sixth round pick started the season on the practice squad, but was promoted in Week 4. Since then, he has been a vital part of this team, and is referred to as a "core" special teams player. He has also proven to be a great short-yardage defender in goal line stands. Look for Andrew Jackson to continue along this path and have a great 2015 season.

The rookie out of Central Michigan did not see too much playing time this year behind Trent Richardson, Ahmad Bradshaw and Dan Herron. However, with Bradshaw and Herron becoming free agents this year, and Richardson not quite performing to expectations, Zurlon Tipton has the opportunity to show he belongs in the backfield. I believe he will become a more vital part of this offense in 2015.

The second round pick out of Ohio State claimed the starting left guard position this year and has excelled in protecting Andrew Luck. I expect nothing less from him in 2015, as he appears to have a bright future ahead of him in Indianapolis.

Jonathan Newsome has become a reliable pass rusher for this Colts' defense as of late. His 4.5 sacks this season is tied for third among all NFL rookies. I expect him to be a huge factor in this defense in years to come.

In his rookie season, Donte Moncrief has become one of Andrew Luck's reliable, go-to guys, averaging 15.7 yards per catch. With Reggie Wayne coming to the end of his career and Hakeem Nicks becoming a free agent in 2015, expect Montcrief's role in this offense to continue to increase. He is definitely one to watch next year.
