NFC Championship Matchup: Green Bay Packers (12-4) vs. Seattle Seahawks (12-4)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Jan. 18, 3:05 p.m. ET, FOX
Stadium: CenturyLink Field
Line: Seattle (-7.5)
The Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks will meet up in the NFC Championship. Needless to say, we are in for a great matchup. These two teams met up in the first game of the season. In that battle, Seattle came out on top (36-16). Call me crazy, but I am expecting Round 2 to be closer.
The Packers made it to this round by knocking off the Dallas Cowboys. Aaron Rodgers threw 316 yards and three touchdowns, and Eddie Lacy ran for 101 yards. If — and this is a big if — those two Packers can have similar outings against the Seahawks’ D, Green Bay could come away with the win.
As expected, Seattle knocked off the Carolina Panthers to make it to the NFC Championship. This team has been on a roll ever since losing in Week 11, and it is many people’s pick to win the Super Bowl. That should not come as a surprise. For one, the Seahawks won the Super Bowl last season. For two, their defense is elite.
Although I don’t think Rodgers will dominate this game, I expect him to throw a couple of touchdowns, which should keep this one close. In the end, Seattle’s defense is very tough to beat, and it will be playing at home. The Packers certainly have the team to win, but the Seahawks will make a second straight Super Bowl appearance.
PREDICTION: Packers 23, Seahawks 27
