Fresh off their National Championship victory, the Ohio State Buckeyes will be losing a key player in Michael Bennett to the 2015 NFL Draft. Paired with Joey Bosa on the defensive line, Bennett was a force all season for the Buckeyes, and he will look to continue being that type of player for an NFL team in the near future. Bennett is a guy who fits perfectly in a 4-3 defensive system and that’s why he is the perfect fit for the Seattle Seahawks.

Although Bennett is disruptive and extremely quick off the ball, he is ridiculously undersized to be an every-down nose tackle at the professional level. At 6-foot-2, 285 pounds, Bennett is small and he wins with quickness. However, for Bennett to make an impact early in his career, he will need to put on some weight. Bennett is a player who is athletic for the position he plays. He may not be suited to take on double teams against the run, however, within the right defensive scheme, Bennett could be a great player as a pass rusher in throwing downs as his quickness will hurt interior offensive lines when they’re spread out.

Seattle is no stranger to taking intriguing players. Last season, the Seahawks drafted offensive tackle Justin Britt in the second round even though many people had a fifth-round grade on him. Simply put, the Seahawks bring in players who fit their schemes and their philosophy. Bennett is a hard-worker and he will fit perfectly in Seattle as it could be in the market for a 3-technique defensive tackle since veteran Kevin Williams is nearing the end of his career. Seattle will field another amazing defense in 2015 and Bennett could help the cause.
