Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace continues to make quick and decisive moves when rebuilding the organization’s coaching staff. It’s been reported that the Bears have hired former Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase. This hire is yet another addition that head coach John Fox is highly familiar with, and appears to be a good fit for the offensive personnel that’s in Chicago.

Gase was the OC for the Broncos over the past two seasons. Prior to that, he was Denver’s quarterbacks coach (2011-12) and wide receivers coach (2009-10).

This is definitely a great addition to the Bears’ coaching staff. Gase has proven to know how to manage an offense with a number of potent weapons. In the Mile High City, Gase had the task of controlling the reins of an offense that featured quarterback Peyton Manning, wide receivers Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker and Emmanuel Sanders, and tight end Julius Thomas.

Chicago’s offensive roster virtually looks the same with quarterback Jay Cutler, wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, and tight end Martellus Bennett. Of course, Manning isn’t as erratic as Cutler, but the talent is still there. In addition to the similar arsenal, Gase now has running back Matt Forte as well. It also doesn’t hurt that Gase did work with Marshall while both were in Denver in 2009.

Pace’s aggressive approach in turning things around in Chicago looks to be going well so far. The Bears have just about every hole filled regarding their coaching staff, and are now ready to direct their focus on targeting key free agents this coming March.
