How many chances will Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon get before the NFL kicks him to the curb? Based on the way things are going, his latest positive drug test could finally be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Gordon has failed yet another drug test and will now be subject to a one-year ban courtesy of the NFL.

This is far from the first time Gordon has returned a positive test since entering the league in 2012. He was suspended for the first two games of the 2013 campaign, and was suspended for the entire 2014 season for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy (it was eventually reduced to 10 games). After returning near the end of the 2014 season, he played poorly before being suspended by the Browns for the final game due to a violation of team rules.
Despite all of the support Cleveland has given him, Gordon continues to be a nightmare. The Browns were expected to attempt to trade Gordon this offseason after his latest round of issues, but with this news, it appears any trade value he had is history.
More details are sure to emerge, but this latest failed drug test proves Gordon is just about done in the NFL. No team will want to take on a player with as much as baggage as Gordon, regardless of talent level.
