Having one of the best statistical seasons for a rookie wide receiver in recent memory is about as good as it gets. However, New York Giants’ Odell Beckham Jr. plans to make sure that his first year in the NFL is stamped with an exclamation point.
According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, Beckham Jr. will attempt to set the record for most one-handed catches in one minute. He also will have none other than New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees throw the footballs to him.
Odell Beckham Jr will try to set record of most 1-handed catches in a minute on Thursday to promote Visa Checkout. Drew Brees will throw.

Clearly, Beckham Jr.’s jaw-dropping catch against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12 is what landed him the promotion with Visa. The insane one-handed grab at the goal line is considered one of the greatest catches in NFL history. NBC commentator Al Michaels was speechless, while Cris Collinsworth was in complete awe of what he had witnessed.
Beckham Jr. has made it known that he practices hauling in a football with one hand quite frequently. In fact, he can typically be seen before games working on the move that has now made him famous.
With the help of Brees, who is one of the most accurate passers in the league, Beckham Jr. should be able to pull off the record on Thursday. If he does, it will be one more reason why he is one of the bright stars to watch in the NFL going forward.
In 12 games in 2014, Beckham Jr. posted 91 receptions for 1,305 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. That means he averaged 14.3 yards per catch and 108.8 yards per game.
