Six-time AFC Champion Tom Brady faced ruthless scrutiny early on in the season after a Week 4 blowout loss to Kansas City. But Brady and the Pats were not even close to giving up on the season, as they rallied back from the loss and are now in the Super Bowl. Brady's middle of the season numbers were outstanding against tough opponents as he led his team on a seven-game winning streak. Here are five reasons why he deserves his third NFL MVP.

Frequently quarterbacks will not get the MVP nod due to some bad games towards the end of the season. This may be the case with Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers this season, but not Brady. He had a passer rating of 59.9 in the Week 4 loss to Kansas City. After that Brady threw at least two TDs in each of his next 10 games.

That Week 4 blowout loss had a lot of Patriots-haters jumping the gun on claiming Tommy Legend and his Pats were finished. Analysts from all over, even in New England, were saying that Brady was finished. So in vintage Tom Brady fashion, he came out in Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals and dismantled them. If that didn't convince naysayers, he went on to lead his team to six more consecutive wins.

Few bring as much passion and energy to the game as Brady. His passion was at an all-time high this season as he ran down the field after throwing TDs to headbutt and celebrate with his teammates. Brady even ran off the sidelines and into the end zone to congratulate Julian Edelman after he returned a punt for a TD against Indianapolis in Week 11.

During the middle stretch of the season, New England had several tough opponents including San Diego, Green Bay, Denver, Indianapolis and Detroit. With the exception of a close loss at Lambeau Field, Brady led his team to convincing victories in all of these games. Playing his best during the middle part of the season was instrumental in locking down the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

With the exception of Rob Gronkowski, Brady does not have elite weapons. This is something that other MVP candidates such as Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers can't say. However, Brady has found ways to utilize receivers Brandon LaFell and Danny Amendola. He turns decent players into good players and good players into great players.
