Will Jameis Winston throw in the NFL scouting combine? So many people have been waiting for an answer on that. However, it might be best if Winston doesn’t throw. Here’s why:
Jameis Winston has had further testing to determine why he is experiencing weakness in his throwing shoulder. Underwent Electromyography
— Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) February 20, 2015
Even if the tests are precautionary, or this isn’t all that serious, Winston absolutely wants to be on his A game in the combine. If he isn’t at 100 percent (heck, even if he is only at 90 percent), sitting this one out may not be the worst idea.
After all, him and Marcus Mariota are both in the running for the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft. A bad outing at the combine could ruin that for either quarterback.
Who knows what will come out of this, but hopefully it is not too serious. As for the combine, not throwing wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. There is still plenty of tape on the former Heisman Trophy winner, and we all know how good Winston can be on the field. We all know the decisions he makes off the field as well, but that is a different story.
This one has nothing to do with outshining Mariota in the combine or proving doubters wrong, it has to do with Winston not hurting himself even further, even if this “shoulder weakness” turns out to be not serious at all.
