Reggie Bush was an exceptional talent in college. In fact, he was one of the best college running backs of all time. That hasn't translated to him becoming a superstar in the NFL, although he has put together a respectable career. However, at this stage in his career, these are five good reasons for NFL teams to take a flyer on the aging back.

It's funny to say since he's only 29 years old, but Bush is nearing the end of his prime. Even though he's shown flashes of brilliance, Bush has never quite put it together, so him falling out of his prime will likely be uglier than what he's been doing on the field over the last few seasons.

There's something to be said about someone like Bush who doesn't lead winning teams much. The Detroit Lions have been good with him, but he hasn't been on the field much, and he also hasn't been much of a leader. He seemed like more of a leader in New Orleans, so he may have taken a step back in that department.

Even when he was on the field last season, it seemed like Bush just didn't have that second gear we're used to seeing. Whether that's because of injury or age, it's not a good sign for a running back trying to find employment.

While teams have tried to make him the main attraction in their offense, Bush has proven time and time again that he can't handle that spotlight. He has carved out a nice career for himself as a change of pace back, but teams are going to be paying for the name and he won't live up to that paycheck.

The most obvious reason to steer clear of Bush is his injury history. He can never seem to stay on the field, and if you're going to be investing a lot of money into him, you want him playing 16 games a season. If the past tells us anything, that's just not going to happen, which means Bush isn't worth taking a chance on at this point.
