With the days leading up to the 2015 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears are closely evaluating hundreds of rookie prospects. Obviously, there are players who are high on their list, but there are some who can fill necessary needs and be easily overlooked. Teams constantly get late-round gems, and this year shouldn’t be any different for the Bears, or the rest of the NFL. Here are five late-round sleepers Chicago should target.

While at Stanford, James Vaughters played primarily as an outside linebacker, but also played as a defensive end. Vaughters’ versatility on the edge could benefit the Bears’ new defensive scheme.

4. Brandon Bridge, QB, South Alabama

With the weak class of free-agent quarterbacks this offseason, and the Cleveland Browns getting a quick grasp on quarterback Josh McCown, the Bears just might look to the draft to add another arm to the depth chart. Brandon Bridge is a tall, lean quarterback who’s displayed a strong arm, and has athletic similarities to Colin Kaepernick.

3. Taiwan Jones, ILB, Michigan State

Throughout the Bears’ linebacking corps, the inside linebacker spot is what needs more attention. Taiwan Jones, who is projected to go in the fifth or sixth round, could be a diamond in the rough who helps solidify Chicago’s interior.

2. Ellis McCarthy, DT, UCLA

With a 6-foot-5, 338-pound frame, Ellis McCarthy could be a good fit for Chicago’s new-look 3-4 defensive alignment. In the event that the Bears don’t draft a nose tackle in the first or second round, Ellis could add much-needed depth to Chicago’s defensive line.

1. Adrian Amos, FS, Penn State

Chicago has had a constant dilemma at the safety position over the years. There is a good chance that the Bears will address this matter via free agency. However, Adrian Amos could still bring good size (6-0, 218 lbs.) and speed to the secondary. In addition, Amos as experience on special teams as a kick returner.
