Breaking Down Atlanta's 2015 Season

The Atlanta Falcons haven't exactly lived up to the hype the last few NFL seasons, but owner Arthur Blank is banking on a better 2015. With a new head coach, franchise QB Matt Ryan and one of the easiest schedules, here are the 13 opponents the Falcons will face off against this season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might have the first overall pick in the NFL Draft, but there are still years of hardship ahead. That translates into good news for the Falcons, who have to games against the league's worst team. After all, Atlanta did put up a season-high 56 points against Tampa in 2014.

Another two-win team from last season is another easy win for the Falcons. Atlanta will take a short trip to Tennessee to face the Titans, who are hoping the second overall pick will lead to some wins. It is safe to say it would be somewhat of an upset if the Falcons were to lose this matchup.

If I am a Falcons fan, I am thanking the NFL for such an easy schedule. From two wins to three, the Jacksonville Jaguars are in for another rough season. Is it too early in the year to chalk up three wins for Atlanta?

Hold on, let's make that a guaranteed four wins in 2015 for Atlanta. We expect Robert Griffin III to start at quarterback for the Washington Redskins, but it is only a matter of time before he gets injured. To make matter worse, if last season was any sign, there is a rift between Griffin and the rest of the team. This will be an easy home win for the Falcons.

The New York Football Giants are not the 6-10 team they finished as in 2014 as they showed that in the victory over the Falcons. Atlanta will have to travel North once again and expect New York to be a much, much better unit. This one doesn't look good for the Falcons again.

The NFC South may just be the worst division in football. After all, a sub-.500 team did win the division and playoff berth. That team would be the Carolina Panthers, who split the two matchups with Atlanta in 2014. Expect much of the same in 2015 as these two franchises will battle for the top. Just please put in a team above .500!

The Minnesota Vikings should cut ties with Adrian Peterson and everything he stands for, but that isn't the topic of this article. The Falcons will have home field advantage, and they better beat the Vikings.

The New Orleans Saints were a disappointment last season, but don't expect that to continue in 2015. Atlanta got the better of New Orleans in both meetings, including an overtime thriller to open the season. These two will be competitive once again, but the Falcons won't get the season sweep. There will be a three team race for the division.

The San Francisco 49ers have too much talent to be an 8-8 team and this won't be an easy matchup for Atlanta, who will have to travel out West. The last time these two teams played in 2013, the 49ers were victorious. Sorry Falcons fans, but the 49ers get the upper hand here.

The Houston Texans have a talented defense, but their offense is questionable. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is inconsistent and Arian Foster constantly struggles to stay healthy. Defense might rule the day on this one, but the Falcons could soar to victory through the pass.

A showdown between two of nature's dominant birds should result in an exciting and thrilling shootout. Both teams have high-powered offenses capable of scoring in bunches. This will be on you won't want to miss and it could go either way.

Now we get into the tough opponents. Atlanta will host the Indianapolis Colts, who continue to get better and better. The Falcons will put up a fight, but Andrew Luck and the Colts are quickly becoming Super Bowl worthy.

The Dallas Cowboys are facing some interesting issues this offseason. From attempting to keep DeMarco Murray to the possibility that Dez Bryant's career could be in jeopardy, no one knows what to expect from Big D this season. We will have to wait and see how everything plays out, but Dallas may not be the same team in 2015, which would be good news for Atlanta.
