Predicting 5 Players the Washington Redskins Will Sign in NFL Free Agency

It appears that Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder is finally tired of losing, so he has handed the keys to the franchise to wonder kid GM Scot McCloughan to help turn things around. McCloughan is not big on signing too many free agents but he knows that Jay Gruden needs some veteran pieces if he’s going to be successful this year. So here are the 5 free agents they will sign to help them reach their goals.

Gruden cannot come out and say it publicly because of the media and fan backlash he would get but he secretly wants McCoy to be his starter. Robert Griffin III is not a good fit for his system and he appears to be too much of a Prima donna to coexist with him, so he would prefer the coachable McCoy to run his offense. McCoy’s biggest strength is getting the ball out of his hands quickly to hit open receivers in a short passing attack.

While McCloughan will be making the bulk of the personnel decisions, you can bet that Snyder will still have his input on who he wants on the field to sell tickets. And while Bush has had a slew of injuries over the years, the former Heisman winner can still bring people to the stadium. His slashing style will fit nicely in Gruden’s system which was able to get the most out of a similar player in Giovani Bernard.

The Redskins are in desperate need of a right tackle who can play opposite of their stud Trent Williams. They have a history of plucking veterans from the Dallas Cowboys because they are in their division and they know them so well. Free has been a solid veteran tackle for years and he has a connection with the recently added Bill Callahan, so this makes sense as the Cowboys will more than likely keep the younger Jeremy Parnell over him.

Since Ryan Clark’s retirement last month, the Redskins are in desperate need of a safety to help their struggling defense. They don’t have a ton of cap space to get a Devin McCourty, plus the Patriots will more than likely keep him around, so they will target the 32-year-old Rolle as he should have a few good years left in him.

They need a veteran corner to help the young Bashaud Breeland and David Amerson come along since both Tracy Porter and DeAngelo Hall are old and coming off injury. And Byron Maxwell is a ball hawk who snagged six interceptions in Seattle’s tough secondary over the past two years, so he could be the perfect fit, especially since McCloughan has a history with him.

Eddie Lacy Could Barely Handle 30-Yard Run

Eddie Lacy is a short yardage specialist, and when he breaks these long runs he definitely will come out of the game every time. This huge run setup the Packers' go-ahead touchdown and they would never look back. Lacy would get his later in the game.
