Last year, Tampa Bay Buccaneers OT Anthony Collins received a five-year, $30 million deal. This year? Well, he might not even be on the team.
Cautionary FA tale: Last year, #Bucs signed OT Anthony Collins to a 5-yr, $30M deal. Now, they’re shopping him. Will cut him if no takers

That is just life in the NFL. If you don’t perform or simply don’t meet expectations, a team will look at other avenues. In Collins’ case, he will either be traded or cut.
Apparently, Collins did not meet expectations this past season. He unfortunately did not hold his own on the offensive line.
If you are an NFL team in search of a specific position, this tale should be a warning to you. Don’t overspend on a specific player unless if that player is actually worth the money. Ideally, it would be great if said player actually met expectations in the past — at the very least.
Happy free agency!
