Tennessee Titans' 5 Biggest Needs After Free Agency

The Tennessee Titans have numerous holes to fill on the roster before the season begins. The Titans did a great job filling needs in last year's draft without making a significant reach, and the team must do the same this year, starting with the No. 2 pick in the draft. Unless Jameis Winston or Leonard Williams is the pick, expect the Titans to try to trade down and acquire additional picks. That would allow the team to fill these five needs.

The easiest way to fill this need is by drafting USC's Leonard Williams No. 2 overall. Williams would then take over for Ropati Pitoitua on the Titans' 3-4 front. Pairing Williams with Jurrell Casey on the ends would give the team a formidable duo to contain Andrew Luck and Blake Bortles twice per season for the next 10 years. The nose tackle position could also be addressed as early as Round 2 if Eddie Goldman or Jordan Phillips falls.

Even after landing Brian Orakpo in free agency, the Titans could still upgrade the depth at OLB. Orakpo and Derrick Morgan are locked in as starters, but Dontay Moch is entering the final year of his contract and Kamerion Wimbley has struggled since joining the Titans. If Tennessee is able to find a team willing to trade up for Marcus Mariota, the Titans can grab one of the draft's top pass-rushing OLBs in Round 1.

Harry Douglas was a nice addition this offseason, but the Titans need more help at wide receiver. The team has until the beginning of May to exercise Kendall Wright's fifth-year option. If that doesn't happen, the need at WR becomes much greater. With Nate Washington no longer with the team, the Titans have an extremely young group at the position. Expect at least one more young wideout to be added in the draft.

The addition of Perrish Cox to the secondary helps, but it doesn't mean the Titans are set at the cornerback position. Cox and Jason McCourty figure to be the starters, but the depth behind them is questionable at best. Coty Sensabaugh struggled last year and is entering the final year of his contract. With Sensabaugh and Blidi Wreh-Wilson as the backups, the Titans must address this position before the start of the season.

QB is not the team's top need. Sure the Titans would consider Jameis Winston if he's there at No. 2, but Zach Mettenberger is a capable starter in this league. Rather than drafting a replacement for Mettenberger, the Titans should improve the offensive line in front of him. 2014 first-round pick Taylor Lewan will protect the blindside, but the Titans need to replace Michael Oher on the right side after he left via free agency.
