5 Early Predictions for the Dallas Cowboys' 2015 Season

It’s never too early to make predictions for the upcoming season, especially in a country where people are starving for anything football related 365 days a year. Dallas Cowboys fans in particular have quite a few reasons to anticipate the 2015 season because of the additions they’ve made to an already talented team through the draft and in free agency. So with that said, here are five early predictions for their season.

5. Dez Bryant Will Play Every Game Under the Franchise Tag

Even though he is threatening to miss regular season games if he is not given a long-term deal before the season starts, Bryant’s passion for the game and for his teammates is far too strong for him to sit out and watch them struggle without him. No one cares about winning more than him, and he realizes what it took for the team to reach this point. Expect him to bite the bullet and play this year under the tag.

4. Defense Will Be Dominant

Defensive end Greg Hardy’s suspension will get reduced and the team will see significant improvement from fellow linemen Tyrone Crawford, Demarcus Lawrence and rookie Randy Gregory to give them one of the better lines in football. And once you factor in Sean Lee’s return to join Rolando McClain in the linebacking corps, the Cowboys will have the best front seven in the league under the leadership of coordinator Rod Marinelli.

3. Joseph Randle Will Be the Team’s Leading Rusher

The Cowboys’ rushing attack may not be as dominant as it was last year with DeMarco Murray, but they do still have a few capable runners to go with what is considered to be the best offensive line in football. Darren McFadden continues to be injury-prone, and Joseph Randle is the more explosive player of the two at this point in their careers. Look for him to eventually take over the starting role and be the team’s leading rusher.

2. NFC East Champions

The Philadelphia Eagles have made quite a few head=scratching moves lately that may or may not work out, but in either case, they are not as good as they were two years ago when they won the NFC East. The Cowboys, on the other hand, have improved in almost every area they needed to with the additions of pass rushers and another corner in Byron Jones. Look for them to run away with the division this year.

Last year was one of the few times a team had a 12-4 record and had to play in the opening Wild Card weekend of the playoffs. I do not anticipate that happening again, so you can fully expect the Cowboys to avoid having to go Lambeau Field this January and for them to finally make it back to the Super Bowl for the first time in two decades.
