The Philadelphia Eagles (4-4) will host the Miami Dolphins (3-5) in one of four AFC-NFC matchups in Week 10. Both teams have been up and down in 2015 which means anything can and probably will happen. While this game won’t have any playoff implications on it, that doesn’t mean it won’t be one of the more exciting games of the week.
The home team Eagles come into this game after just beating their division rival Dallas Cowboys on the road in overtime after a Jordan Matthews walk-off touchdown reception. The Eagles have been up and down all year with newly acquired quarterback Sam Bradford, and now, without a bye week to help him prepare, it will be interesting to see if the team will be able to build off of last week’s win. Somehow the Eagles sit atop the NFC East and will be looking to now capitalize on the easier part of their schedule.
After winning two straight with interim head coach Dan Campbell, the Dolphins have now lost two straight after a 16-point loss to the Buffalo Bills and currently sit at the bottom of the AFC East. The Dolphins have been the disappointment of 2015 as many expected them to be a top contender in the AFC. Against the Eagles, this is a team that is looking to get back on track and just stay in the AFC playoff hunt that is still wide open.
As mentioned above, these are two teams that have been up and down all year and have failed to show any sort of consistency this season. The Eagles are the early 5.5-point favorites as they are the team that looks like they have figured themselves out, but they have also won two in a row just once this season.
This will be a battle between inconsistent teams with nobody really knowing what to expect. Given that the Eagles are the team on the rise and the Dolphins seem to have been brought back down to earth, Philadelphia could have the advantage in this one, especially with it being at home.
Prediction: Eagles 34, Dolphins 23
