In a not-so-shocking turn of events, the NFL has decided to suspend Oakland Raiders linebacker Aldon Smith for one year after he was arrested for drunken driving and hit-and-run back in August.

After being released by the San Francisco 49ers following the aforementioned incident, the Raiders rolled the dice on the troubled Smith and have enjoyed some quality production from him as he waited for the NFL to hand down a punishment. Through nine games, he had racked up 28 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
