5 Players Seattle Seahawks Should Target In 2016 NFL Draft

The Seattle Seahawks made it close, but they could not overcome a 31-0 halftime deficit against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Looking ahead to the 2016 NFL Draft, here are five players the Seahawks should target.

5. Stanford TE Austin Hooper

The Seahawks should build their offense around quarterback Russell WIlson, and with Jimmy Graham facing a career-altering injury recovery, adding better depth at tight end would be a nice step in that direction. Hooper has experience in a pro-style offense at Stanford, and most draft evaluators like his upside potential as a Day 2 pick.

4. LSU OG/OT Vadal Alexander

Alexander is a favorite of mine, due to his size (329 pounds) and ability to play either guard or tackle at the next level. If the Seahawks go a different direction in the first round, Alexander stands out as the kind of prospect they'll target as a good value a bit later.

3. Texas A&M OT Germain Ifedi

Ifedi has experience at both tackle spots, as well as left guard, and he was a starter for his final three seasons at Texas A&M. The Seahawks could seek immediate upgrades across the offensive line via the draft, and Ifedi may fall further than expected and become a potential value pick.

2. Michigan State OT Jack Conklin

Conklin may be gone by the time Seattle is on the clock in the first round, but if he falls a bit he's exactly the kind of pro-ready left tackle they'll need. If he is still available close to the Seahawks' first pick, and the other top offensive tackles otherwise go off the board in line with expectations, a trade up to get Conklin could be in order.

1. Ohio State OT Taylor Decker

Russell Okung is headed for free agency, so Seattle could be in the market for a left tackle early in the draft. Decker is widely considered the top senior prospect at offensive tackle, and I think it's unlikely he falls all the way to the Seahawks in the first round, but he is a good fit and someone who should be on their radar.
