Carolina Panthers HC Ron Rivera Places Ban On Hoverboards After Players Drag Raced

Hoverboards have become the newest fad and while they seem like a lot of fun, we’ve also seen how dangerous they can be. We’ve seen multiple professional athletes fall off of them and bust their butts which is exactly why Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera has placed a ban on them in the team facility.

“We don’t (want) them running around because we don’t want something crazy happening here,” Rivera said, via FOXSports.com. “We’re trying to limit their exposure to injury.”

“Truthfully, somebody told me about them igniting so I went on YouTube and found them,” Rivera added. “They also showed the (videos) with people falling off, people making sharp turns and there was somebody standing there and running into them. I can’t imagine …”

Rivera also said that he caught players drag racing in one of the hallways which was the first incident that led to the ban.

As a Panthers fan, I’m happy that Rivera has placed this ban as I couldn’t imagine the fallout of an injury to Cam Newton, who has been known to ride a hoverboard down the sidewalks of Charlotte, that would keep him from playing this weekend or in the Super Bowl if the Panthers get there.

The Panthers are a team that loves to have fun, but this ban was necessary to protect the organization’s ultimate goals and player safety.

Fan Falls From Stands After Luke Kuechly's Pick-6

This was quite a series of events for Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly. First, he picks off Carson Palmer. Then, he manages to find paydirt to complete the stellar pick-six. What happens next, though, no one could have seen coming. A fan apparently got a little too excited about all the success the Panthers were having, and ended up flying onto the field from the stands. Kuechly was there to assist him, further proving his awesomeness.

Watch Panthers' Newton Flip Into End Zone For TD

Since the opening kickoff of the 2016 NFC Championship Game, the Carolina Panthers have dominated every aspect of the game against the Arizona Cardinals. The defense has swarmed Carson Palmer all night long, forcing three turnovers and currently holding them to 15 points. The special teams have held the Cardinals' return game in check, hit two field goals and produced a big punt return from Ted Ginn Jr. With that being said, Cam Newton is the MVP of this game and of the entire 2015-16 NFL season, and this play is a big reason why.

Watch Panthers' Newton Dab While Teams Scuffle

Cam Newton scored on a one-yard touchdown run, and once he got off the pile, he made his way to the end zone to hit his famous dab. In the process, the rest of his teammates got into a scuffle with the Arizona Cardinals.

Watch Panthers' Newton Hit Brown For 86-Yard TD

The Carolina Panthers are clicking on all cylinders during the first quarter of the 2016 NFC Championship Game against the Arizona Cardinals. Following this great read by Cam Newton to find a wide-open Philly Brown for a 86-yard touchdown, the Panthers took a 17-0 lead. It was great pocket awareness by Newton and you could see his eyes move off of Jerricho Cotchery at the last minute to find Brown streaking across the field. It's just another sign of the maturation of Newton.

Watch Panthers' Ginn Jr. Reverse Field For Huge TD

After one of the best seasons of his career with the Carolina Panthers in 2013, Ted Ginn Jr. took a three-year deal as a free agent from the Arizona Cardinals. He was unable to earn any playing time from the wide receiver-rich Cardinals and ended up being released following one year in the desert. Ginn then re-signed with the Panthers prior to the 2015 season and is enjoying another brilliant season as the Panthers' leading receiver. I'm going to assume the Cardinals wish they still had Ginn on their side after a huge punt return set of this amazing touchdown run from one of the fastest players in the NFL.
