The two Super Bowl head coaches have had a much different path to this point. The Carolina Panthers were Ron Rivera‘s first head coaching gig while Denver Broncos‘ Gary Kubiak failed as head coach of the Houston Texans before getting a chance with the Broncos. With that being said, here are five reasons why the Panthers have the edge in the coaching department.

For people that don't know, the Panthers are one big family that supports and loves each other. These guys know what their role is and how to execute it because of the direction from Rivera. The Broncos are more a sum of great talent that was put together by general manager John Elway and not necessarily due to the bonds created by the players.

While Kubiak has been a part of three Super Bowl champion teams as a coach, he never won as a player. Rivera, on the other hand, was a member of the dominate 1985 Chicago Bears who demolished everything in their site. He knows what it takes to get his team ready and he knows what to tell his players about the things they'll experience in the big game, which is a huge plus.
