2016 NFL Draft: Denver Broncos Pre-Combine Seven-Round Mock

Even after winning the Super Bowl, the Denver Broncos have some work to do this offseason. The team has some holes to fill, primarily on the offensive line, and that’s before the likely loss of at least one or two key players to free agency. With several needs to address, here is a mock draft of what the Broncos may do during the 2016 NFL Draft prior to the rookie combine.

Round 1, 31st Overall - Ryan Kelly, Center, Alabama

The Broncos need help on the offensive line, and Kelly is the best center available. He's strong in the running game and hasn't allowed a sack the past two years at Alabama. He can start for Denver right away, as they re-make their offensive line.

Round 2, 63rd Overall - Landon Turner, Offensive Guard, North Carolina

Offensive line is such a need for the Broncos that they needsto double up on it early in the draft. Turner was one of the best linemen in the ACC last year, and like Kelly he can move into the starting lineup right away.

Round 3, 95th Overall - Tyler Matakevich, Linebacker, Temple

The Broncos may not be able to re-sign Danny Trevathan, so they need to add depth at middle linebacker. Matakevich is not blessed physically, but he's smart and puts himself in position to make plays. He can help fill the void if Trevathan leaves.

Round 5 - Tyler Ervin, Running Back, San Jose State

Ervin is a patient, north-south runner who should fit Denver's running scheme. With Ronnie Hillman being a free agent, Ervin is a good Day 3 pick who can back up C.J. Anderson in the Broncos' backfield.

Round 7 - Brandon Shell, Offensive Tackle, South Carolina

Shell missed all of 2015 due to injury, so he should be available on Day 3. He has good upside, and if nothing else can provide depth for the Broncos with Ryan Clady and Ty Sambrailo both returning from injury.

Round 7 - T.J. Green, Safety, Clemson

The Broncos could use some depth at safety, and Green would make a nice pickup late in the draft. He has good size and is a late bloomer, so he has room to grow while backing up T.J. Ward and Darian Stewart.

Round 7 - Devon Cajuste, Wide Receiver, Stanford

It never hurts to take a chance on a smart and productive receiver towards the end of the draft. Cajuste has strong hands and could be a cheap and viable option as Denver's fourth or fifth receiver in 2016.
