2016 NFL Draft: Cincinnati Bengals Pre-Combine Seven-Round Mock

For years, the Cincinnati Bengals have been close to making a deep playoff run but have not quite gotten over the hump. The Bengals always appear to be one great draft class away from being favorites in the AFC. Here is an early look at what Cincinnati may attempt to do with the 2016 NFL Draft to get themselves to the promised land.

Round 1, 24th Overall - Corey Coleman, Wide Receiver, Baylor — Coleman has incredible speed and athleticism, and putting him on the field with A.J. Green would give the Bengals a great tandem that could be nearly as good as the receiving corps the division-rival Steelers have.

Round 2, 55th Overall - Nick Martin, Center, Notre Dame — The Bengals have a solid offensive line, but they are weak at the center position. Notre Dame has produced some good linemen in recent years, and Nick Martin should be an upgrade.

Round 3, 87th Overall - Maliek Collins, Defensive Tackle, Nebraska — The Bengals need to add more impact players on the defensive front, and Collins is one of the best available in this year's draft who's suited to be a 4-3 defensive tackle. He's too good for Cincinnati to pass on at this point in the draft.

Round 4 - Eric Murray, Cornerback, Minnesota — Murray is a well-rounded cornerback. While he doesn't project as a star, he'll give the Bengals another solid player in their secondary. Depth in that area is important to have in such a pass-heavy league.

Round 5 - Kavon Frazier, Safety, Central Michigan — Frazier is a safety with size and strength, so he'll give Cincinnati's secondary some attitude and physicality. He'll also be a useful special teams player, which is always a plus.

Round 6 - Curt Maggitt, Linebacker, Tennessee — Maggitt is a bit of a tweener, which is why he'll be available this late in the draft, but he's an outstanding athlete. He was productive throughout his college career and will give the Bengals a useful pass rusher at the outside linebacker position.

Round 7 - Ron Thompson, Defensive End, Syracuse — Thompson is still raw, but he's a tremendous athlete. The Bengals won't be hurt by another pass rusher, and Thompson has more upside than most seventh-round picks. This would be a quality selection in the final round of the draft.
