Pittsburgh Steelers’ 5 Biggest Draft Needs Heading Into 2016 Combine

There is no NFL without certain franchises, and the Pittsburgh Steelers remain one of the most popular in all of sports. Many teams have a huge following, but Steelers fans grab their Terrible Towels, walk into your stadium and it feels like they have another home game. The love they have for their team is reciprocated by the team itself. Now this proud franchise looks to reward their loyalty by constructing a roster that will give their faithful a reason to smile. Here are five areas where they will look to start.

5. Outside Linebacker

As the AFC North got younger and more physical, the Steelers got older in spots. Starting to infuse some youth and depth at outside linebacker isn't a bad idea as they look to dethrone a Bengals team with playmakers everywhere.

4. Quarterback

It may be time to find a successor for Ben Roethlisberger. His elusiveness has been legendary, but nowadays, he doesn't get away quite like he used to and injuries are starting to add up.

3. Offensive Guard

They have to get stronger at the interior of this line. They need a little more push in the running game and better pass protection. Bringing someone in for depth or just to spark some competition wouldn't bring an objection from anybody.

2. Safety

All of a sudden, the Steelers don't have the same defensive intensity that we've become accustomed to seeing. The combine and the draft will need to be used for finding some guys to change this.

1. Cornerback

The Bengals have taken over as the AFC North's best team (even with their issues). They're more physical on offense now, and to match that intensity, the Steelers need to add physicality to the defensive side of the ball starting with the secondary.
