Round 1, No. 4 Overall - Jalen Ramsey, Safety, Florida State

The Dallas secondary needs some help (or a lot of help), and Ramsey is the best defensive back available. He may be the best player available overall, and it's a safe bet that he'll become an impact player in the NFL. He could be a real difference maker for the Cowboys, and they would certainly welcome that on the defensive side of the ball.

Round 2, No. 34 Overall - Austin Johnson, Defensive Tackle, Penn State

The interior of the defensive line was a weak point for Dallas last season and an issue they have to address. Johnson has a great motor and was a productive player throughout his college career. He should have no problem contributing to the Dallas rush defense, making him a useful asset for the Cowboys.

Round 3, No. 67 Overall - William Jackson, Cornerback, Houston

Drafting Ramsey in the first round will be great for the Dallas secondary, but the Cowboys also need to address their need at cornerback. Jackson has the size and physicality to match up with some of the bigger wide receivers in the NFL, which will make him a useful asset. The Cowboys have missed on cornerbacks in the past, but Jackson should be a solid pick, even if he doesn't develop into a star.

Round 4 - Cardale Jones, Quarterback, Ohio State

The Cowboys need to start planning for life after Tony Romo, and taking a chance on Jones on Day 3 of the draft isn't a bad idea. Obviously, his experience in college is a bit limited, but he has shown flashes of brilliance against top competition on the big stage. Jones is a big, strong quarterback with a cannon of an arm and good athleticism; that's a skill set the Cowboys can try to develop into an NFL starter.

Round 6 - Geronimo Allison, Wide Receiver, Illinois

Allison isn't exactly a safe pick, but he has great athleticism and upside for a sixth-rounder. He should be able to step in right away and be a complementary receiver, and if he can keep his focus on football, Allison could grow into something more. The Cowboys need playmakers who can take advantage of teams paying so much attention to Dez Bryant, and Allison could be that kind of player.
