The San Diego Chargers have a lot of needs to fill on both offense and defense, and this is a very important draft for them. It might help for them to trade down to collect more draft picks, although they will have to wait for the right deal. Here are several prospects they should consider in this year’s draft.
1. Round One - Jalen Ramsey
Getty ImagesRamsey would fill a huge need for the Chargers at safety, and has the potential to develop into an elite player in the league. He is one of the top prospects available, and would be a good first-round pick for the Chargers.
2. Round Two - Jonathan Bullard
Getty ImagesBullard is strong enough to play defensive end for the Chargers, and could help improve their run defense. He plays hard and would give them added toughness on the line.
3. Round Three - Nick Martin
Getty ImagesThe team needs to address the center position, and if Martin is still available with their third pick then they should strongly consider him. He is an intelligent player who could develop into a very good leader down the road.
4. Round Four - Kyle Murphy

5. Round Five - Scooby Wright III

6. Round Six - Cardale Jones
Getty ImagesJones has a strong arm and has proven that he can win big games. He is still a raw prospect, but the Chargers will have Rivers for a few more years and they could take a chance on his potential.
7. Round Seven - Dan Vitale
Getty ImagesThe Chargers need to make more of a commitment to the run, and Vitale can be a very good fullback in the league. He shows a lot of athleticism, and has the ability to play tight end as well.
