Evaluating game film is usually the best way to determine whether or not a prospect is cut out for the next level, especially at quarterback. Watching signal-callers go through their progressions and making the right reads is only really possible in live game action. Therefore, as a general rule, pro days and the Combine are usually just glorified beauty contests for these guys who will someday be under the gun at the next level. That was not the case for Paxton Lynch during his pro day on Wednesday.
24 mph wind gusts?@PaxtonLynch‘s arm strength is laughing at that at his pro day. 💪 💪 💪 https://t.co/pnFvg188QE

The winds were whipping throughout the 6-foot-7, 244-pound quarterback’s workout, but Mother Nature didn’t faze him. His arm strength and accuracy were on display despite the adverse conditions, which makes his showing in shorts and a t-shirt much more impressive than your average workout.
The San Diego Chargers sent offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt to evaluate Lynch’s workout and he had to be impressed with what he witnessed. While there’s zero chance of the Bolts taking Lynch at No. 3 overall, it wouldn’t be surprising if they found a defensive building block early and then tried to trade up into the late first round to land Philip Rivers’ successor from Memphis.
