Last week, the Tennessee Titans pulled off a blockbuster trade with the Los Angeles Rams in which they gave up the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and their fourth- and seventh-round picks in exchange for the No. 15 overall pick, a first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, two second-round picks and a third-rounder in this year’s draft.
According to CBS Sports, general manager Jon Robinson isn’t done as he’s looking to move back up into the top 10 in the first round. The Titans are reportedly eyeing either Notre Dame tackle Ronnie Stanley or Michigan State tackle Jack Conklin to provide some protection for Marcus Mariota, and Robinson feels like he has to move back up in order to get one of those guys.
“He’s moving back up,” one executive told the outlet. “He has the ammo to do it and it’s heading in that direction.”
The move would make total sense for the Titans who need to make sure they protect their franchise quarterback. It would also be nice if Robinson could find a receiver or two in this draft to give Mariota some more options to throw to. With DeMarco Murray in tow, the Titans are only a piece or two away from having a decent offense.
