As a follower of Sam Bradford during his days with the then St. Louis Rams and one who was elated when the team magically offloaded him to the Philadelphia Eagles last offseason, it’s hard to call this latest development a surprise. And that goes for both the Eagles trading up to the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming draft and Bradford’s apparent disgust over the move.
The quarterback who stole money from the Rams was none too happy with the deal and his not being informed of it going down. According to a source of ESPN’s Adam Schefter: “He’s hot. Who wouldn’t be? This is Philly saying, ‘We don’t see (you) as long-term answer.’ He’s mad and wants to show everyone who’s best.”
Color me crazy, but I think the signing of Chase Daniel to a three-year, $21 million pact just days after Bradford stole more money in Philly was just as damning. New head coach Doug Pederson likes Daniel from his days with the Kansas City Chiefs, so it’s not unreasonable to say that Bradford will be the coach’s third favorite QB come Week 1.
