The San Diego Chargers have to upgrade the talent on their roster, and must be smart with their first-round pick. They could trade down and try to accumulate more picks, or stay where they are and take one of the top players available. Here are five players they should avoid in the first round.
5. Robert Nkemdiche

Nkemdiche has a lot of talent, but he is not worth the risk in the first round. He may be available in later rounds due to character concerns, and would make more sense later in the draft.
4. Ezekiel Elliot

Elliot has the potential to be a great player, but the Chargers already invested a lot in a young running back. It is very unlikely that they will take him, but stranger things have happened.

Treadwell is a physical receiver who can win contested catches and would be a big-time weapon for Philip Rivers. However, the team has much bigger needs that they must address in the first round, especially in the trenches.

Ragland can be a good middle linebacker in the league, but the team needs more speed on defense. Denzel Perryman has showed potential, and the team will need an athletic playmaker next to him.

Coleman is an exciting talent, with speed to really stretch the field. However, the Chargers should still wait to see if Coleman will fall to them later in the draft as they have other priorities to take care of.
