Mixed in with all of the optimism surrounding NFL free agency and the beginning of the new league year is the less flattering story of teams throughout the NFL repeatedly breaking federal drugs laws in their distribution of painkillers and anti-inflammatories.
Sealed court documents from a federal lawsuit filed by former players contained some disturbing findings as far as the league’s liberal treatment of drugs is concerned.
This clip, as reported by the Washington Post, shows some staggering numbers, the most absurd of which was that teams gave out enough drugs to average 6-7 pills or injections per player per week during the season.
That’s some damning evidence, and the cover-up could mean criminal liability for the NFL.
