It’s already been a long offseason for running back Adrian Peterson, but the NFL free agent may finally have a bite with a visit to the New England Patriots set up for Monday.
Though they’ve already added Rex Burkhead to the backfield this offseason, the Pats love to stock up on versatile players who fit a niche.
And with LeGarrette Blount still unsigned and unlikely to return, New England has a need for the back who can pick up the tough yards between the tackles.
It’s hard to see Peterson resigning to that fate as a complementary piece already, but sometimes reality hits hard for a 32-year-old running back.
