5 Last Minute Trades the Nashville Predators Should Consider Before the 2015 NHL Trade Deadline

After adding Mike Santorelli and Cody Franson via trade, the Nashville Predators really loaded up for the stretch run as they look to bring the Stanley Cup to the Music City. Despite already making a big splash, the market presents a good opportunity for Dave Poille and the Predators to make it bigger. Any of these mostly low cost trades would make Nashville even deadlier down the stretch and in the playoffs.

A team can never have too many defensemen and Gleason would give the team some more veteran depth on the blue line. The former US Olympian would be a relatively cheap get and could eat up some minutes on the back end with his hard-nosed style of play.

The former Brandon Wheat King has carved out a niche as role player in Columbus and could bring that same mindset to the Predators. Having a bottom-six forward that has some offensive pop surely wouldn’t hurt in the playoffs.

The aging superstar still has some great hockey left in the tank and would love to cap his career with another Stanley Cup. With New Jersey on the verge of a firesale and Nashville looking to add, the fit is there. I’d love to see what Jagr would do on a line with Mike Fisher and Colin Wilson.

The forward has asked out of Florida and would be a fantastic fit with the Preds as his speed, versatility and playoff experience would give Nashville exactly what they need. I doubt such a trade would require Nashville to break the bank and it could pay immense dividends.

The veteran forward brings size and despite having a subpar offensive year will bring some offensive pop to the lineup. Adding the former University of Michigan star would be an under-the-radar acquisition that could strengthen the lineup. I’m intrigued at the thought of Moss’ 6-foot-4 frame in front of the net on the power play, especially during the playoffs where size is at a premium.
