After becoming the first reigning champion to miss the playoffs in almost a decade, the Los Angeles Kings have a plethora of moves to make. Here are five rumors that are surrounding the team this offseason.

After missing most of the season due to domestic violence charges, Voynov’s NHL future is at best up in the air. Right now I would say Voynov gets a suspended sentence and the Kings find a way for to continue his NHL career in Russia’s KHL.

The Kings traded for the defenseman in hopes he’d complement Drew Doughty and help the team make the playoffs. That didn’t happen and now they could lose Sekera as a free agent in July. Look for the Kings to offer Sekera a fair deal that fits their troubled salary cap situation and for Sekera to at least consider it. I’d say it’s 50/50 Sekera stays in L.A., as he’d be a hot commodity for teams around the league looking for help on defense.

The 2014 Conn Smythe winner has yet to be re-signed and it looks like his days in L.A. are over. The Kings may make a last second run to retain Williams, but given the salary cap situation and team’s attempt at a youth movement, I’d say it’s safe to assume he’s played his last game as a member of the Kings.

The center can be a free agent in 2016, and the team will do everything possible to ensure he doesn’t get to the market. Look for Kopitar to be offered an eight-year deal worth around $ 70 million to ensure the Slovenian sniper spends the rest of his NHL career in Los Angeles.

1. Mike Richards Will Get Bought Out

Dean Lombardi gave Richards one last chance this season, and rather than reward Lombardi’s faith, Richards ended up in the minor leagues. Look for the Kings to buy out the remaining five years of Richards’ deal and move from the former All-Star center.
