The Columbus Blue Jackets continued their change of play under John Tortorella, and played their best game of the season Tuesday night over the New Jersey Devils.
Scoreless entering the third period, Sergei Bobrovsky played his best game, making a highlight stick-save en-route to 23 saves; it was the kind of signature highlight save and form we’ve come to expect from Bob. It’s a good sign as he and the team continue to dig their way out of their early-season hole.
Looking to build off its recent two-game win streak, Columbus will be back on the road Friday night at the Washington Capitals.
Whether or not Ryan Johansen will rejoin the team for that game remains to be seen, his health condition still a tad murky, but indications are that he could play Friday. Though they are continuing to monitor him, Tortorella let out a positive sign:
#CBJ coach John Tortorella on Ryan Johansen: “I got good reports today. He’s feeling better. I believe he was on the ice by himself today…

Just as vital as Bob is to the Jackets, RyJo remains as important to the success of this team. While Columbus did not win in a manner that might be considered pretty Tuesday night, it nonetheless was their best game, particularly defensively — Columbus only had 14 shots on goal.\
