5 Players the Philadelphia Flyers Should Trade Right Now By Darrell Samuels PREV NEXT 5 Players the Philadelphia Flyers Should Trade Right Now Getty Images The Philadelphia Flyers are often projected to have successful seasons and most times they fail to meet expectations. It is either a troubling defensive core, injuries or the goaltending that has been a problem for many years. The following five names should be dealt before the February 29 NHL Trade Deadline. 5. He has five points in 13 games and doesn't provide much value to the Flyers' roster. His current salary is $3.4 million and he could be a valuable addition to another organization. 4. Steve Mason Getty Images 4. Steve Mason Getty Images Just like with the Toronto Maple Leafs, the goaltending in Philadelphia has been terrible. Mason, a former draft pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets, has not been able to return to the form of his rookie year in Ohio. Goaltenders have tremendous pressure on them to achieve success and the pressure seems to have gotten to Mason. 3. Michal Neuvirth Getty Images 3. Michal Neuvirth Getty Images Neuvirth appears to be the better of the two goaltenders in Philadelphia. However, it is obvious that he will not be able to push the Flyers into the playoffs and win a Stanley Cup. He has started in eight of the 16 games earning three shutouts, but it is obvious a huge shakeup in net needs to occur. The team has not had a steady goaltender since their GM was between the pipes during the '80s and '90s. 2. Luke and Brayden Schenn Getty Images 2. Luke has only four points in a dozen games and has found himself sitting as a healthy scratch in the lineup. Brayden had a bright future as a Los Angeles Kings player, but has struggled to maintain the same level of promise as when he was in California. 1. Claude Giroux Getty Images 1. Giroux is struggling this year but he could fetch a huge return.
